Aayush Gabrani, MD, FAAP (He/Him) is currently a final year Pediatric Gastroenterology Fellow at the UT Southwestern Medical Center, Dallas, TX (USA), and is pursuing his Master of Health Professions Education (MHPE) from Maastricht University, Netherlands. His research focus includes endoscopy education, diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) in medical education and simulation-based education. After graduating from medical school in India, he moved to the US and completed Simulation Fellowship at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. He has served on the Executive Committee for Section on Simulation and Innovative Learning Methods at the American Academy of Pediatrics (2019-2022). Aayush also champions health advocacy and has published 2 editorials focusing on working as an immigrant gay physician in USA (homophobic micro-aggression at workplace and its impact) and on his identity as a gay physician with IBD influencing his approach to patient care. He will be joining the University of Minnesota in July 2023 as Assistant Professor of Pediatrics, where he envisions to continue his work in medical education and workplace diversity and safety. In his spare time, Aayush likes to work out and travel with his fiancé exploring different cuisines, cultures and places.

Vikki’s career as an IBD Clinical Nurse Specialist has spanned the last 16 years and has culminated in her recent appointment as a Nurse Consultant in Gastroenterology in the Royal Hospital for Children, Glasgow in 2021. Publications include the experience of teaching self administration of Methotrexate at home in children and young people and a review on the practical management of perianal Crohn’s disease from her MSc thesis in 2015. Vikki is a keen proponent of the importance of effective MDT working in the delivery of high quality patient care and is keen to raise the profile of IBD Nurses specifically. She is driven towards providing more effective services for people (specifically young people) who live with IBD through the implementation of QI approaches and effective MDT working.

Paediatric Gastroenterology
Marco Gasparetto is a consultant paediatric gastroenterologist at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, and a Honorary Associate Professor at the University of East Anglia (UEA), in the United Kingdom. He graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Padua, in Italy, in 2008, with a thesis entitled “Inflammatory bowel disease: a study on its evolution from childhood to adulthood”. This research was further developed and led to the publication of an original scientific paper in the “Journal of Paediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition” in 2010. He completed his specialty degree in Paediatrics with an interest in Paediatric Gastroenterology in 2014 (CCT equivalent). Dr. Gasparetto has been dedicated to clinical and translational research in the field of paediatric gastroenterology, focusing especially on inflammatory bowel disease. In 2013, he started a clinical and research fellowship in Cambridge (United Kingdom) and in 2019 he completed a post-grad MD Degree at the University of Cambridge, with a project on prognostic biomarkers in paediatric IBD. He was awarded the Ralph Noble Prize for best scientific dissertation of the Academic Year 2018-2019. The findings of the research undertaken by Dr Gasparetto during his doctoral degree were later published in "Gastroenterology". Dr Gasparetto gained valuable clinical experience as a Consultant Paediatric Gastroenterologist at The Royal London Children's Hospital, Bart's Health Trust, from 2019 to 2022. He has co-authored several scientific publications on paediatric gastroenterology, hepatology and digestive endoscopy. He has been an active member of the British and European Societies of Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition (BSPGHAN and ESPGHAN) and he currently chairs the Research Committee of BSPGHAN and an ESPGHAN special interest group for basic science and translational research. He is also Associate Editor of the Journal of Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition (JPGN). Dr Gasparetto regularly contributes to educational and teaching activities at UEA as well as across national (BSPGHAN) and European (ESPGHAN) networks. He is involved in ongoing collaborative research work with the University of Cambridge, focused on the pathogenesis of paediatric inflammatory bowel disease, and on diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers for this condition.

Dr. Simona Gatti is currently a Researcher in Pediatrics at Università Politecnica delle Marche (Ancona, Italy) and Consultant in Pediatrics at Azienda Ospedaliero Universitaria (Ancona, Italy). After the medical graduation she completed her residency program in Pediatrics at Università Politecnica delle Marche and one year clinical and research fellowship at Addenbrookes's Hospital-University of Cambridge (Cambridge, UK). She completed a 3 year PhD on "Changes in microbiota in IBD children with a focus on enteral nutrition". Her researches are mainly focused on IBD, pediatric nutrition and celiac disease.

Songpon is currently a paediatric gastroenterologist at Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University in Bangkok, Thailand. His education was primarily based in Thailand, including Doctor of Medicine with the first-class honour from Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University (2012), Thai Board of Paediatrics (2016), and Thai Board of Paediatric Gastroenterology (2018) after training at Khon Kaen University and Ramathibodi Hospital, respectively. Moreover, he obtained a postgraduate certificate in Allergy from Imperial College London, United Kingdom in 2019. Songpon has received several accolades for his works, such as an award for excellence in Paediatrics from Siriraj Hospital, research presentation awards from the Thai Transplantation Society, and the Thai Association for the Study of the Liver. In addition, he was the recipient of the “Young Investigator Award” from the Asian Pan-Pacific Society of Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition (APPSPGHAN) in 2022. His research has been focused on paediatric liver disease and transplantation. Apart from enjoying playing several sports in his free time, Songpon participates in the education and publicity subcommittees of the Thai Society of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Hepatology. He also works with the Royal College of Paediatricians of Thailand to promote online education to the public.
