Dr Arun Urs, MBBS FRCPCH received medical degree from Kuvempu University, India. He completed RCPCH approved programme and received Certificate of Completion of Training in Paediatric gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition. He worked as Consultant Paediatric Gastroenterologist at Great North Children’s Hospital, Newcastle before settling at Sheffield Children’s Hospital since Dec 2013. He is a senior Honorary Lecturer at Sheffield University. He is a Clinical lead for nutrition services and has streamlined care for children on home parenteral nutrition. He is member of Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health, British Society of Paediatrics Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition, European Society for Paediatrics Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition, British Medical association, and General Medical Council. He performs a wide array of therapeutic endoscopic procedures. He is a keen trainer and a regular faculty on National training courses for Paediatric Wireless capsule endoscopy, colonoscopy and therapeutic endoscopy. He has had the privilege to work with some of the pioneers in paediatric endoscopy. He has been recipient of ‘Young Investigator’ award twice from European Society for Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and nutrition. He has number of academic publications, contributed chapters in endoscopic textbooks, presented abstracts and oral presentations at national and international conferences. He is a dedicated and compassionate physician who is committed to providing the best possible care to his patients. He is an asset to the paediatric gastroenterology community. He is a strong advocate for children’s health and is passionate about his work.
