Pediatric gastroenterology
Jasmijn Jagt is a medical researcher who graduated from medical school in June 2020 and started her PhD at the department of pediatric gastroenterology in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Her research focuses on inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) in children, with a particular focus on the gut microbiome and metabolome, as well as the safety of thiopurines and anti-TNF agents. Her work in this field is aimed at improving the diagnosis, treatment, and understanding of IBD in children.
During her PhD, Jasmijn has also worked on a project aimed at creating a research agenda for children and young adults with IBD. In collaboration with the James Lind Alliance and the patient association, this project was focused on identifying the top 10 research priorities from the viewpoint of patients, parents and health care professionals. These top 10 priorities could serve as the basis of future research for children and young adults with IBD.

In 2007 Norman Junge graduated from Medical University of Hannover. In 2010 he finished his doctoral thesis (M.D.) with magna cum laude (“Is there an association between expression of IP10, MIG, CXCR3 and acute cellular rejection after liver transplantation?”).
From 2007 to 2009 he worked at the University Medical Center Goettingen.
From 2009 and up to now, he is working in the department of paediatric gastroenterology, hepatology and liver transplantation, Hannover Medical School. 2012 he worked on a project about gene therapy in liver based metabolic diseases granted by “Deutsche Forschungsgesellschaft (DFG)”. He is involved in the European Project “CureCN” for gene therapy in Crigler-Najjar-Syndrome. Further interests and research activities are about pediatric liver transplantation, autoimmune liver diseases, cirrhotic cardiomyopathy and transition. In 2019, he received the “Paul Caspar Tyrell” award from the German society for pediatric gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition (Gesellschaft für Pädiatrische Gastroenterologie und Ernährung) for excellent research on cirrhotic cardiomyopathy. Since 2020 he is member of the Hepatology Committee of the European Society for Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition. Further he is co leader of the “ERN Rare Liver” PSC and AIH-ALV group. In 2022 he finished his postdoctoral thesis and was awarded the venia legendi (Habilitation).
