Dr Marcin Banasiuk is a specialist in pediatric gastroenterology and Head of Pediatric GI Motility Lab, Medical University of Warsaw. He is a former chair of Motility Section of Polish Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition. His main areas of interest are the functional gastrointestinal disorders in children with a special interest in motility disorders and motility tests in children after surgery for congenital disorders. His main research aim is the implementation of new technologies in motility testing and their standardization in the pediatric population. He provides courses on motility testing in children in Poland. Currently, he is involved in UEG Activity Grants on the dissemination of guidelines for motility tests, and coordinates pediatric part of the content (EUGIM-Hub). He is the co-first author of the most recent guidelines on anorectal manometry procedures in children.

Presently a pediatric resident in Lyon, France, I wish to specialize in gastropediatrics. I have had the opportunity to work in the pediatric hepato-gastroenterology and nutrition departments in both Lyon and Lille, and I am currently in adult gastroenterology in the department of Professors Boschetti and Nancey. Concerning scientific research, I completed my master 2 at the International Research Center in Infectiology in Pr Faure's team, my research focused on Salmonella infections in monogenic intestinal diseases. I am currently writing my medical thesis, which I plan to submit in October 2023 and I am here to present you today my initial results.

Following training in Birmingham and Essen Dr Baumann was appointed as Consultant Paediatric Hepatologist in Birmingham in 2002 and has since been affiliated with the Birmingham group. In 2008 he was appointed Chair in Paediatric Hepatology and Gastroenterology at Hannover Medical School, Germany. Dr Baumann´s research interests focus on rare and metabolic liver disease and liver transplantation. He is PI of the EnprEMA recognised paediatric liver transplantation network ChilSFree and local PI of the European Horizon 2020 gene therapy consortium CureCN and the German PFIC network HiChol. Since 2017 he serves as Technical Director Research and as Regional Coordinator for the European Reference Network TransplantChild. In 2019 he was elected paediatric board member European Liver and Intestine Transplant Association (ELITA). Dr Baumann served the European Society for Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition (ESPGHAN) in different functions including membership of the Hepatology Committee (Chair 2013-2016) and as Associate Editor of the Journal of Paediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition (JPGN). He has the privilege to serve the Society as President since June 2022.
