Adrian O’Malley has worked in the disability sector for nine years and has 16 years of lived experience of Stroke. Adrian works as a peer facilitator and mentor for People with Disability and their informal support network. He has previously worked as a Support Coordinator assisting People with Disability to understand, implement and use their National Disability Insurance Scheme, NDIS, plan effectively. Adrian is also a participant in the NDIS. As a survivor of stroke, Adrian served six years on the Stroke Foundation Consumer Council and has a prominent national profile, raising awareness of stroke and the challenges faced by young survivors of stroke, their carers, and families. Adrian communicates with different stakeholder groups (people living with or affected by stroke, health professionals, researchers, and policy makers) about what individuals can do to improve lives after stroke. Adrian has worked extensively with researchers to co-design resources to achieve better research outcomes and collaborate more effectively with People with Disabilty. When not advocating for Stroke, Adrian is a passionate horticulturist, brewer, bird nerd, and bushwalker - who loves to watch live music. He also has an extensive collection of native orchids which he will be only too happy to talk about.

Mayowa OWOLABI, MD, DrM, FAAN, FANA, FRCP, FAS, FAAS, FAMedS is a Professor of Neurology, and pioneer Director, Center for Genomic and Precision Medicine, University of Ibadan, Nigeria. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Neurology, Royal College of Physicians, Academy of Medical Specialties, the Nigerian Academy of Science and African Academy of Sciences. He is an outstanding scientist with several inventions and innovations including the ‘Seed of Life Model’, ‘stroke quadrangle’, and ‘brain quadrangle’, ‘stroke levity scale’, ‘stroke recovery spiral’, and ‘implementation cycle’. He has over 330 publications with over 76,500 citations with a Google Scholar h-index of 70. He has led over 20 research and training grants in stroke including THRIVES, SIREN – the largest study of stroke in Africa, ARISES, SIBS-Genomics, and TALENTS. He is the pioneer Regional Vice-President, World Federation of NeuroRehabilitation (sub-Saharan Africa); African Regional Director, World Hypertension League (WHL), Foundation Co-Chair, African Stroke Organization and Rapporteur of the World Health Organization(WHO), Technical Advisory Committee on Non-Communicable Diseases (Research & Innovation). He is the Lead Co-Chair, WHO-World Stroke Organization (WSO)-Lancet Commission on stroke. He is the winner of the 2021 WSO Global Award for Outstanding Contributions to Clinical Stroke Research.

Atilla Ozcan Ozdemir is currently working as a Professor in Eskisehir Osmangazi University Medical Faculty, Department of Neurocritical Care and Neurology. Dr Ozdemir is a director of Neurocritical Care and Interventional Neurology and Neuroradiology Program. He is currently the president of Turkish Cerebrovascular Disease Society and the Moderator of Cerebrovascular Working Group for Turkish Neurological Society. Dr Ozdemir is a fellow of European Stroke Organisation and a board member of MENA-SİNO. Dr Ozdemir is a member of SVIN and representative for regional committee for MT 2020 Project. Dr Ozdemir studied in Stroke Unit and Stroke Clinic in Toronto Sunybrook Hospital for 3 months with Professor Norris on 2002. Between 2004-2007 he has finished his Clinical Cerebrovascular Disease Fellowship Programme at University of Western Ontario, London, Canada. Dr Ozdemir worked with Professor Vladimir Hachinski and Professor David Spence. Dr Ozdemir also worked in Neurocritical Care Unit and Neuroradiology Department. He worked with Dr Henkes for improving his skills in “Endovascular Stroke Therapy” at University of Stuttgart Germany. Dr Ozdemir has been actively performing mechanical thrombectomy, aspiration, cerebral aneurysm, dural AVF, cerebral AVM treatment for almost 15 years. Dr Ozdemir is currently a director of Stroke Center in Eskisehir Turkey.
