Daniel T. Lackland is Professor of Epidemiology at the Medical University of South Carolina. He is a Fellow in the American College of Epidemiology, American Society of Hypertension, and American Heart Association. He directs the Division of Translational Neuroscience and Population Studies, and the Masters of Science in Clinical Research Program. He is the principal investigator for the Black Pooling Project assessing the disparities in cardiovascular diseases and hypertension. Dr. Lackland was appointed to Joint National Committee on Prevention, Detection, Evaluation, and Treatment of High Blood Pressure (JNC 8), and the work group for the NHLBI Clinical Guidelines for Cardiovascular Risk Reduction (Global Risk Assessment). He also served on the Evidence Rating Committee of the ACC/AHA Clinical Practice Guidelines (Hypertension). He was appointed the chair of the Executive Committee and Steering Committee for NHLBI Coronary Artery Risk Development in Young Adults (CARDIA) Study. His research interest involves the population risk assessment of cardiovascular disease, stroke and hypertension. His research spans all stages of life from the fetal and early life origins of high blood pressure to hypertension awareness at sporting events. He is immediate Past-President of the World Hypertension League and former Deputy Editor-In-Chief of the Journal of Clinical Hypertension.

He is currently working as Neurologist, Neurovascular Programme, Hopital du Sacre-Coeur de Montreal. He is Associate Professor at the Department of Neurosciences, University of Montreal, His main research and clinical interests include stroke in the young, etiological diagnosis, rare causes of ischemic stroke, CNS vasculitis, patent foramen ovale, and atrial fibrillation.

I am an associate professor and consultant neurologist at the National University of Malaysia Medical Centre, a comprehensive stroke centre in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. I completed a PhD in stroke medicine at the University of Nottingham, United Kingdom in 2019, working on data from the Tranexamic acid for IntraCerebral Haemorrhage-2 (TICH-2) randomised controlled trial. I was the national coordinator the TICH-2 and currently Tranexamic acid for IntraCerebral Haemorrhage-3 (TICH-3) for Malaysia. I was involved as an investigator/ trial physician for several stroke randomised controlled clinical trials, including RIGHT-2, RESTART, RESTORE brain, LACI-1, ATTEST-2, TASTE and TWIST. I look forward to international research/academic collaborations and am eager to be involved in more clinical trials in stroke. I have 60 journal publications to date including in the Lancet, Stroke, JNNP, JAMA Neurology, International Journal of Stroke, European Stroke Journal and Cochrane Systematic Reviews. I’m also a reviewer for several stroke/neurology journals. I am a member of editorial board of European Stroke Journal and an associate editor for Neurology Asia, the official journal of ASNA. I was recently accepted into the World Stroke Organisation Future Stroke Leaders Programme. Dr Andrew Lee is a stroke neurologist and an Associate Professor of Neurology, Flinders University, College of Medicine and Public Health and the Director of the Centre for Neuroscience Innovation. He completed a Stroke Research Fellowship at the Johns Hopkins University Hospital School of Medicine, Baltimore Maryland under the mentorship of Prof. Argye Hillis. While there he completed a Masters of Public Health at the Bloombergs School of Public Health, Johns Hopkins University researching effective ways of treating transient ischemic attack. He is the recipient of a National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC-NICS) Fellowship looking at the implementation of safe thrombolysis in acute ischemic stroke. He has research interests in thrombolysis in stroke, intracranial hemorrhage and amyloid angiopathy and has numerous publications in peer reviewed journals. He is a reviewer for a number of high impact journals in neurology and stroke and is on the editorial board of the journal Stroke. He is a founding director of Australasian Stroke Academy, the purpose of which is to further training of medical practitioners in stroke medicine and furthering research in stroke. He served as the first chief executive officer He is currently on the board of the World Stroke Organisation as well as the Council of the Royal Australian College of Physicians.

Dr Meng Lee joined Vascular Neurology Fellowship program at UCLA, as a Visiting International Scholar under mentorship from Dr Jeffrey L Saver, Dr David S Liebeskind and Dr Bruce Ovbiagele from Oct 2008 to Sep 2010. Dr Lee has published about 100 peer-reviewed papers, including papers in BMJ, Annals of Internal Medicine, JAMA Neurology, Annals of Neurology, JNNP, Stroke, and Neurology. He has participated in the projects examining the qualitative and quantitative relationships of novel and traditional risk factors with stroke risk, evaluated comparative diagnostic modalities via clinical trial design, and interrogated national administrative databases for pertinent clinical practice patterns, and strategies for secondary stroke prevention. Dr Meng Lee is currently a Fellow of the American Heart Association.
