Dr NG Wai May is an Advanced Practice Nurse (APN) at the National Neuroscience Institute. She has graduated from her Master of Nursing in 2012 and have completed her Doctor in Nursing Practice in 2019. She has more than 25 years of experience working with patients with stroke and has been key member in the establishment of stroke units in 2 public hospitals in Singapore. She participates actively in the development of stroke care processes from hyper-acute to the community setting. She is also actively involved in the clinical services such as stroke activation and running of the APN-led stroke clinics. She is also a member of the Ministry of Health- Stroke Services Improvement (SSI) team to improve stroke care across the continuum, which includes the re-organisation of stroke services in Singapore.

Dr. Wan Asyraf Wan Zaidi, is a clinical lecturer and stroke neurologist & physician at the Department of Medicine, UKM Medical Centre. He is currently the Vice Chairman of Malaysia Stroke Council and a member of World Stroke Organisation, WSO Future Stroke Leaders Programme and also the co-chair MT2020+ Malaysia. Dr Asyraf is the national lead investigator for Malaysia in several muticenter international RCTs. His research interest are in acute stroke reperfusion treatment, stroke rehabilitation and stroke prevention. During his free time he love to spend time with his family

Dr. David Wang is currently the Co-Director of Petznick Stroke Center & Interim Director of Stroke Fellowship at Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix, Arizona, USA. He is also a Professor of Neurology at the University of Arizona, Creighton University and University of Illinois. He is the Deputy Editor & General Manage of Stroke and Vascular Neurology, the official English journal of the Chinese Stroke Association. Prior to moving to BNI, Dr. Wang established the second Joint Commission certified comprehensive stroke center at OSF SFMC. He was a co-author of the 2013 AHA/ASA acute stroke care guideline. Dr. Wang was the Co-Chair of the Quality and Safety Subcommittee (2015-2017) and Section Chair of Stroke (2016-2018) of the American Academy of Neurology.

Professor Yong-jun Wang is currently the President of Beijing Tiantan Hospital affiliated to Capital Medical University, Vice President of Chinese Stroke Association. Professor Wang pioneered the CHANCE and CHANCE 2 trials for the treatment of high-risk non-disabling cerebrovascular disease. He presided over the establishment of the first standardized stroke unit for cerebrovascular disease wards in China, and established the national quality control index, monitoring network and improvement platform for cerebrovascular disease medical treatment. More than 200 SCI papers have been published attributing to as the first ranks in the number of Elsevier Scopus database (the topic of ischemic stroke and transient ischemic attack) and the total cited times in the last five years. As the first accomplice, he won the two award of second prize of National Science and Technology Progress, two of first prizes of provincial and ministerial level, and one of the first national Innovation MEDALS.

Dr Wee Chee Keong’s main clinical interest is in acute stroke treatment. Dr Wee completed his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery at the National University of Singapore in 2004, and became a member of the Royal College of Physicians (UK) in 2009. He subsequently completed specialty training in neurology in 2013. He received the Health Manpower Development award in 2015 and pursued a year of fellowship training in Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital in Perth, Australia. During his time of service in National Neuroscience Institute (NNI) at both Singapore General Hospital and Changi General Hospital campuses, Dr Wee helped to develop and refine treatment protocols of acute stroke patients. He was also the chief medical informatics officer for NNI. He is also a visiting consultant with the Singapore General Hospital. A keen advocate for patients, Dr Wee co-chaired the inaugural Brain Awareness Carnival in 2017, which was NNI’s outreach programme to help the community learn about prevention and treatment of neurological disorders. As an educator, Dr Wee was a faculty member of the neurology senior residency programme, and an adjunct assistant professor with Duke-NUS medical school. In 2018, he also co-chaired the 17th Singapore International Stroke conference.
