My name is Silvina Muñiz and I live in Martínez, Buenos Aires province, Argentina. I have two sons, a dog and two cats which I consider part of my family. I obtained my veterinary medicine degree at Universidad Nacional de la Plata in 1987 and, as the owner of a clinic, I specialize in internal medicine and veterinary surgery on small-sized animals. I have been working at this clinic for the past 35 years. VET Clinic has been operating in Martinez for over 35 years, focusing its efforts on animal well-being and preventive medicine practices. The practice also seeks to raise awareness of responsible pet ownership. Our team is convinced that prevention and education are crucial to achieving good health conditions and a better quality of life for pets as well as human beings: it is with this aim that the VET Clinic serves its community. I have created the educational television program #CanalVET, and which is dedicated to spreading awareness on disease prevention and animal healthcare among the general public. Since 2016, the program has been broadcast on numerous digital platforms. And last but not least, I have dedicated part of my work to low-income people, because I believe that solidarity and understanding are necessary to be able to practise veterinary medicine to the fullest. I feel I owe a lot to my profession: being a veterinarian has added happiness to my life.
