Dr. Kliment Gatzinsky holds a full time position as Senior Consultant at the Department of Neurosurgery, Sahlgrenska University Hospital, Gothenburg, Sweden. He graduated from the Medical School at Gothenburg University, where he also received his PhD degree in neurosciences. After completing a two-year postdoctoral fellowship at The Royal Free Hospital in London, he did his neurosurgical residency at Sahlgrenska University Hospital where he was appointed as Consultant in 2003. He is head of the Functional Neurosurgery Pain Unit at the hospital since 2004 and holds a position as Visiting Consultant on permanent basis at the Department of Neurosurgery, Stavanger University Hospital, Norway, where he started up the neuromodulation unit. Dr. Gatzinsky’s main interest is in neurosurgical treatment of chronic pain disorders. He has more than 25 years of experience in this field and uses most neuromodulation techniques on a regular basis, including spinal cord, dorsal root ganglion, peripheral nerve, repetitive transcranial/epidural motor cortex, and sacral nerve stimulation. He has published numerous peer-reviewed journal articles, reviews and book chapters and is a reviewer for several scientific journals. He has ongoing international teaching and advisory board assignments and serves on various medical and professional boards both in Sweden and internationally. Dr. Gatzinsky is currently President of the Nordic Chapter of INS.

Anna qualified as a Clinical Psychologist from the University of Edinburgh in 2012 and has worked in physical health settings since. Anna hs over 10 years experience working in Chronic Pain Services and 9 years within the Glasgow Neuromodulation Service, where she is involved in the MDT assessment of each candidate. She also works closely with nursing and physiotherapy colleagues to support patients in their preparation for neuromodulation. Over the last 6 years, she has worked with colleagues across the UK to establish PiPiN (Psychologists in Pain Neuromodulation), a network of over 40 psychologists in England, Scotland and Northern Ireland working in neuromodulation services and is passionate about the development of psychological input within neuromodulation services.

Alexander L Green FRCS(SN), MD, MB BS, BSc(hons) PhD is a Professor of Neurosurgery at the University of Oxford, Nuffield Department of Surgical Sciences. He is an academic Functional Neurosurgeon specialising in Deep Brain Stimulation and Spinal Cord Stimulation but his practice also encompasses some general neurosurgery including trauma. His research is focused on Neuromodulation for Autonomic Function and Sleep disorders and includes device development, basic physiological science and Neuroscience. He has authored over 200 peer-reviewed publications. He has been awarded a number of international prizes for his work, including the Congress of Neurological Surgeons (CNS) ‘Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery Resident Award’ in 2005, ‘Gordon Holmes Prize’ awarded by the Royal Society of Medicine in 2007, and the International Neuromodulation Society (INS) ‘New Investigator Award’ in 2010. He has written two books and over 15 book chapters. He sits on a number of research trial committees including a data monitoring committee, steering committee and clinical advisory board. He frequently teaches on International Courses on spinal cord and dorsal root ganglion stimulation. He is currently running three major clinical trials including EPIONE (DBS for Chronic Post-stroke Pain) and BRAINSTATE (DBS for Minimally Conscious State)

Dr Gulve is a Consultant in Pain Medicine at the James Cook University Hospital, Middlesbrough since 2006. He is a lead for the Pain Service. He completed specialist training in the North East of England. He has worked as an Instructor in Pain Management at the Washington University School of Medicine in Saint Louis, USA for one year in 2005. He is a President of the Neuromodulation Society of UK & Ireland and Honorary Treasurer of the British Pain Society. He is an active member of the Training and Assessment Committee of the Faculty of Pain Medicine and a National Lead for Pain Medicine in the Medical Training Initiative (MTI) scheme of the Royal College of Anaesthetists. He is a Patient Safety Ambassador across the Neurosciences Collaborative for South Tees Hospitals NHS Trust. He is specialised in interventional pain management and has got a particular expertise in Neuromodulation. He is interested in new innovations in the field of Neuromodulation and indeed was first in the UK to use many new innovations. He mentors younger colleagues and teaches and trains pain professionals in the UK and across Europe. He is involved in number of clinical research trials involving neuromodulation and has many national and international presentations and publications to his credit.
