Dr. Rafael Carbunaru is a distinguished professional and Vice President of Research and Development in the Neuromodulation Division at Boston Scientific Corporation. He is dedicated to improving the lives of patients worldwide through the development of innovative non-drug treatments for chronic neurological disorders and chronic pain. Dr. Carbunaru holds a bachelor's degree in electronics engineering from the Universidad Simon Bolivar and M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in biomedical engineering from Case Western Reserve University. With an impressive portfolio of over 60 patents, he has been recognized for his contributions to the field.

Dr. Michelle Case is a principal scientist for Medtronic’s Neuromodulation DBS research team. Dr. Case trained in electrical engineering at Northern Illinois University and completed her PhD at the University of Minnesota studying biomedical engineering. Currently, Dr. Case specializes in analyzing local field potential (LFP) data obtained from deep brain stimulation devices (DBS) and understanding how LFP sensing data relates to therapeutic outcomes and imaging. Dr. Case has been at Medtronic since 2018.
