Denys Fontaine is neurosurgeon, trained as a resident in Paris, senior neurosurgeon at the University Hospital of Nice, France since 1999 and full professor since 2014. He has obtained a PhD in Molecular and Cellular Biology in 2007. He is specialized in Brain Tumours and Functional Neurosurgery, particularly involved in deep brain stimulation and neuromodulation for chronic pain, including primary headaches. Since 2013, he is the director of the “Fédération Hospitalo-Universitaire Inovpain" ( www.inovpain.com ), a large consortium gathering clinicians, researchers and companies, and devoted to the development of innovative solutions for chronic refractory pain. He has coordinated several multicentric trials and published 155 scientific articles including 32 as first author. He is the president of the French INS chapter since 2022.
