Alizamin Sadigov is Professor Doctor and scientific head at Pulmonary Medicine Department of Medical University in Azerbaijan pulmonologist at the FUNDA HOSPITAL Lung Disease Unit. He has published several manuscripts about predictors of patients outcomes in community- acquired pneumonia and nosocomial pulmonary infections, particularly, hospital- acquired and ventilator- associated pneumonia. His clinical interests include obstructive lung disease, lung infections, connective tissue disease- associated interstitial lung disease (CTD- ILD), idiopathic interstitial pneumonias, sarcoidosis, and non- tuberculosis mycobacterial pulmonary disease (NTM -PD). His main research interest focus is on the study of in- hospital analysis of prognostic biomarkers and risk factors in critically ill patients with lung infections. He obtained his medical degree in respiratory medicine at the University of Baku, Azerbaijan, and subsequently obtained PhD, DO (doctor of medicine), second PhD, and MS in respiratory medicine from Russian Federation, United States of America and United Kingdom. He is author of more than 300 manuscripts on lung infections and other pulmonary disorders.

Curriculum vitae of professor Alessandro Sanduzzi Zamparelli Alessandro Sanduzzi Zamparelli was born in Naples (Italy) on June, the 11th,1954. Graduated in Medicine and Surgery at the University "Federico " of Naples in 1978 , postgraduate specialized at the University "Federico " of Naples in Respiratory Diseases in 1981, and specialized in Allergology in 1988 at the University of Parma (Italy). From 1985 to 1999, Prof. Sanduzzi Zamparelli has worked first as Assistant Professor of Respiratory Disease , then as Associate Professor of Respiratory disease from 2000 to 2020, and finally from January 2021 , he is full professor of respiratory disease , always at the University "Federico II" of Naples.Since 2004, he is Director of the Unit of Respiratory Diseases, School of Medicine, University of Naples. Director of Postgraduate School of respiratory disease at University Federico II , Naples, since 2011. Member of the directory board of Italian Society of Respiratory Diseases (SIP/IRS) and member of the European Respiratory Society (ERS). Frequently chairman or president or invited speaker in the most important international congresses, ,he is author of almost 200 papers, among which about 170 are published on the most important international scientific journals, with an high impact factor, and an h-index of 31. His main fields of interest are : --diagnosis of latent tubercular infection, mainly in immunocompromised patients; --pathogenesis and treatment of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF); --new therapies of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). He received financial support for research by Italian Institute of Health and Italian Minister of foreign affairs. He is frequently principal investigator of clinical trials (phase II, III, IV) concerning new drugs for treatment of IPF , COPD , asthma. He conducted clinical research according to GCP and he authorizes the use of personal data according to D.Lgs. n° 196/2003.

Pierachille Santus is Full Professor in Respiratory Medicine at the University of Milano, Italy and Head of Respiratory Division at “L. Sacco” University Hospital-ASST Fatebenefratelli Sacco Milano, Italy. He graduated in 1996 at the School of Medicine, University of Milano and participated to the Residence Programme in Respiratory Diseases in the period 1996-2000 at the same University. Prof. Santus obtained his Ph.D on Molecular Biology-Curricula Molecular Oncology at the University of Milano, Italy in 2004. In the 2001, Prof. Santus was a post-doctoral research fellow at the Aintree Chest Centre – University Aintree Hospital NHS, Fazakerly Hospital with Prof. P.M.A. Calverley MD (Liverpool-UK) and during the summer fellow at the Biomedical Engineering Centre of Boston University (Boston-USA). Prof. Santus work in a clinical setting managing all the acute and chronic respiratory diseases in terms of diagnosis (noninvasive and invasive technics) and therapy (eg noninvasive ventilation, biological and innovative drugs). He is principal investigator in clinical studies and international RCTs focused on COPD and asthma innovative treatment, and his main research interests are the clinical aspects of COPD and asthma, with special focus on the physiological and pathophysiological modifications that affected the lung mechanics, airways variability of subjects affected by chronic respiratory diseases. However, Prof. Santus have research interest also on the clinical pharmacology in COPD and Asthma, with particular focus on the molecular and pathophysiological modification related to bronchodilators. Prof. Santus has an excellent experience, as principal investigators, in National and International clinical trials according to Good Clinical Practice. He is heavily engaged in teaching activities for the School of Medicine, Rehabilitation and Extracorporeal Cardiac Technicians in the University of Milan, where he teaches Respiratory Diseases. He is member of the European Respiratory Society, the Italian Respiratory Society (head of the Lombardy Region Section) and General secretary of the Global Asthma Association (GAA). He is author of more than one hundred and ninety peer-reviewed publications and co-author of several book chapters and monographs. Prof. Santus served as reviewer for many respiratory journals and he is Academic Editor of the Canadian Respiratory Journal, Associate Editor of the BMC Pulmonary Medicine, and Section Editor (Pulmunology) for the Journal of Clinical Medicine.

Dr. David Schulman is a Professor of Medicine in the Division of Pulmonary, Allergy, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine. He received his undergraduate degree from Yale and his medical degree from Johns Hopkins, followed by Internal Medicine residency at the University of Rochester and fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Boston University, during which he obtained additional training in Sleep Medicine. Dr. Schulman has an extensive background in education and educational administration. For 14 years, he directed Emory’s pulmonary and critical care fellowship program, but recently stepped down to take on the role of director of the School of Medicine’s preclinical foundations curriculum. His primary area of academic interest is on faculty development and research in the domains of teaching effectiveness and assessment. His work in education has been recognized with a Fellowship Innovation Award from the American Thoracic Society, the Outstanding Educator Award from the Association of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine Program Directors (APCCMPD), and the Parker J. Palmer Courage to Teach Award from the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education. Dr. Schulman currently serves as the President of the American College of Chest Physicians.

Dr. Frank Sciurba, M.D. is a Tenured Professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He is the director of the Emphysema COPD Research Center and the Director of the Clinical Pulmonary physiology laboratories and pulmonary rehabilitation program. He earned his B.S. degree in Biochemistry from the University of Illinois and attended medical school at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. Dr. Sciurba completed his residency and fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Dr. Sciurba’s research has been inspired by real clinical problems facing his patients. He has authored over 250 peer reviewed publications with a particular emphasis on lung physiology and COPD. Dr. Sciurba currently holds several leadership positions— he is a Principal Investigator of the Network Management Core of the NHLBI sponsored Pulmonary Trials Consortium (PTC), and he is a member of the Western PA Regional ALA Board. He is also the academic chair of the COPD Biomarker Qualification Committee (CBQC), a group that works with the FDA to address the need for new biomarkers to facilitate development of drugs and devices for chronic pulmonary conditions.
