Dr. Baraldi is Professor of Pediatrics, Women’s and Children’s Health Department, University of Padova, Italy; Head, Unit of Neonatology and Neonatal Intensive Care, University of Padova; Past-Head of the Allergy and Respiratory Diseases Unit, University of Padova; and Past-President Italian Society for Pediatric Respiratory Diseases (SIMRI). His primary research interests: neonatology, pediatric asthma, respiratory infections, markers of airway inflammation, BPD and metabolomics.

I’ve been involved from long time in evaluation committees either at my university (University of Padova), the Italian Ministry of University and Research, or the European Respiratory Society (College of Experts).
Elena Bargagli is Associate Professor at Siena University in Italy and a pulmonologist at the AOUS Hospital Interstitial Lung Diseases Unit of rare lung diseases at the Lung Transplantation Unit. She has published several manuscripts about biomarkers in different diffuse lung diseases. Her clinical interests include connective tissue disease-associated interstitial lung disease (ILD), idiopathic interstitial pneumonias, sarcoidosis and hypersensitivity pneumonitis, Pulmonary Langerhans cell histiocytosis, and lymphangioleiomyomatosis. Her main research interest focus is on the study of proteomic analysis in the fluids of patients with ILD, chitinase potential role in sarcoidosis pathogenesis, and the identification of prognostic biomarkers in idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. She obtained her medical degree and completed her training in respiratory medicine at the University of Siena, Italy, and subsequently specialized in ILD in the regional ILD specialist center in Siena. She is (co)author of more than 100 manuscripts on ILD and sarcoidosis.
