Dr. Narasimhan works for Northwell Health as the Director of Critical Care Services across the 23 hospital system and is the Medical Director of the ALI/VV ECMO program. She is a Professor of Medicine at the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell. She is board certified in internal medicine, pulmonary, critical care and sleep. Her undergraduate studies were at Barnard College, and medical school was at the University of Health Sciences in Kansas City. She did her residency, chief residency and fellowship at Beth Israel Medical Center, NY. Dr. Narasimhan has been teaching point of care ultrasound internationally for 15 years and is a testamur of the NBE. Research interests include point of care ultrasound in the critically ill, COVID 19 and critical care, and ECMO for lung injury. She serves many leadership roles for CHEST, including the education committee and the Chair of Live Learning. She has over 65 publications in various topics of critical care medicine and a large number of national and international presentations.
