Leonardo M. Fabbri was Professor and Director of Internal Medicine and of Respiratory Medicine at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia until 2016. Then he became and still is Eminent Scholar of Respiratory and Internal Medicine at the University of Ferrara (leonardo.fabbri@unife.it). He served as Associate Editor in some of the most important Respiratory Journals (AJRCCM, Lancet Resp Med, Eur Respir J). He was one of the founding partners of the Global Initiative on Asthma (GINA) and Global Initiative on Obstructive Lung Disease (GOLD). He was President of the European Respiratory Society (ERS). His main areas of interest have been asthma, COPD and lately chronic multimorbidity. He has published > 600 papers in peer reviewed journals plus several book chapters. His Hirsh Index June 2022 are 124 for Google Scholar and 103 for Scopus.

Currently, Professor at Master on Sleep Medicine at University of Bologna; Professor at Master in Respiratory Intensive Care at University of Bologna. Professor and member of Scientific Committee at Sleep Medicine Summer School (formerly Alpine Sleep Summer School), “Academy of Sleep and Consciusness (ASC) Bern University (CH) and Università della Svizzera Italiana. Co-editor of 2 Books, Author or Co-Author of 21 book’s Chapters, and 122 international peer-review original papers: the H-index is 31.
