Dr. Yiwei Yang is a Professor of Medical Physics at Institute of Applied Electronic in Mianyang, Sichuan, China. He obtained his undergraduate degree in Nuclear Technology (2009) from Tsinghua University in China and master degree in Nuclear Physics (2013) from Tohoku University in Japan. Yang received his Ph.D. in Nuclear Technology from Tsinghua University in 2014 under the supervision of Professor Side Hu and Professor Yigang Yang. His research interests span both nuclear technology and medical physics. Much of his work has been on improving the understanding, design, and performance of radiation and detection. Yang co-developed a high energy X-ray FLASH irradiator called PARTER and is currently studying on the radiation system and dosimetry of FLASH radiotherapy.
