Swati Girdhani is currently the Director of Research Collaborations at IBA, focusing on FLASH and other emerging therapies. She did her Ph.D. in 2007 from Bhabha Atomic Research Center in India on radiosensitizers for cancer and her post-doc at Tufts University in Boston, working on NASA projects on estimating carcinogenesis risk for astronauts from cosmic radiation. After that, she worked at Varian as a senior scientist and manager of the radiobiology team, publishing the 1st abstract on FLASH protons and their effect on normal lung tissue toxicity.

Dr. Carles Gomà is the Project Manager of the Catalan Proton Therapy Project at the Catalan Health Service. He obtained his doctorate in physics in 2015 from ETH Zürich (Switzerland). Since 2010, he has been active member of the proton therapy community at Massachussets General Hospital (USA), Paul Scherrer Institute (Switzerland), KU Leuven (Belgium) and now at the Catalan Health Service.

Cai Grau is Professor of Radiation Oncology at the Institute of Clinical Medicine at Aarhus University and heading the interdisciplinary radiotherapy research at the Danish Center for Particle Therapy at Aarhus University Hospital in Aarhus, Denmark. He is director of the national research center DCCC Radiotherapy (DCCCRT.dk) funded by the Danish Cancer Society and coordinator of the European Particle Therapy Network (EPTN). His main area of interest is research in head and neck oncology, high precision radiotherapy, proton therapy, and health economics in radiation oncology.
