After graduating in 2017 at the University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover, Germany, I decided to dedicate the four following years to the field of brain cancer research. During my PhD, I worked on the optimization of a new radiotherapy modality for the treatment of glioblastoma, known as Microbeam Radiation Therapy (MRT). This exciting and innovative method yields the opportunity to drastically improve the therapeutic ratio for brain cancer patients. Since 2021, I work half-time in a veterinary clinic and half-time in research as a post doc. The research team and I have been conducting for 1.5 years a phase I preclinical trial for the treatment of canine intra-cranial glioma-like masses by MRT. My veterinarian expertise is of high value in this ongoing pet animal trial and will further help to promote MRT towards the prospective clinical trials.
