Dr. Soheil Saeedi, PharmD, PhD, Group Leader at the Center for Translational and Experimental Cardiology (CTEC), University of Zurich, received his PhD in 2016 from Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS), followed by postdoctoral fellowships at Harvard Medical School and University of Zurich. His research areas include cardiovascular aging and redox biology. He has authored or co-authored over 60 peer-reviewed publications in first-line journals, namely European Heart Journal, Proceedings of National Academy of Sciences USA, and Aging Cell. He also edited 8 peer-reviewed books and chapters and presented research work at over 30 international conferences. He has served as editorial board and reviewer of >20 prestigious journals e.g., European Heart Journal, and professional member of over 10 international scientific associations, including the American Heart Association (AHA), European Society of Cardiology (ESC), and European Atherosclerosis Society (EAS). He has been honored with numerous international and national awards (>25 prizes), namely, including "Paul Dudley White International Award" from the American Heart Association (2021 & 2022), "AGLA Walter Riesen Award" from the Swiss Atherosclerosis Association (2021), "European Atherosclerosis Society Young Investigator Fellowship" (2021 & 2022), "FAN Award" and "DOCR Award" from University of Zurich (2022), and "Harvard Fellowship" (2017-2019).

Philipp Scherer is Professor and Director of the Touchstone Diabetes Center at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. Throughout his career, he has maintained an interest in processes related to cellular and systemic energy homeostasis, with a special focus on the adipocyte. He identified adiponectin, one of the first secretory factors to be described that almost exclusively originate in adipose tissue and which is currently widely studied by many different research groups. Scherer has been on the faculty of UT Southwestern Medical Center since 2007. Dr. Scherer has published more than 500 papers in the areas of diabetes, cardiovascular disease and obesity/cancer, has been cited more than 66,000 times and has an h-factor (Thompson-Reuters) of 125. He is amongst the 100 most highly cited researchers in biomedical research from 2009-2021 according to Thompson-Reuters. He was awarded the 2015 Banting Medal for Scientific Achievement from the American Diabetes Association, the 2015 Britton Chance Memorial Award from A*STAR, Singapore, the 2017 European Association for the Study of Diabetes (EASD) / Novo Nordisk Foundation Diabetes Prize for Excellence, the 2018 Manpei Suzuki Prize in Japan and the 2019 Basic and Translational Science Award from the International Diabetes Federation (IDF).
