Professor Landmesser has been Director of the Department of Cardiology, Angiology and Intensive Care Medicine, Campus Benjamin Franklin at the Deutsche Herzzentrum der Charité since January 2023, and Director of the newly established Friede Springer Cardiovascular Prevention Center since June 2022. He was previously Chairman of the Department of Cardiology at the Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin (from 2014 to 2022) and Medical Director of the Charité Center for Cardiovascular Medicine (from 2016 to 2022). He currently serves as a member of the Editorial Board of the International Journal of Cardiology and has served as Deputy Editor of the European Heart Journal, the leading cardiovascular journal in Europe, since 2008. He has a particular research interest in translational and clinical development of novel therapeutic and management strategies for the prevention and treatment of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease. He has authored more than 500 publications and has an H-index of 99. He has contributed to several ESC/EAS guidelines and EAS consensus papers. Since 2019 he has been named as a “Highly Cited Researcher”, in the top 1% of researchers most cited.

Ulrich Laufs is Chair and Professor of Cardiology at Leipzig University, Germany. After completing his training at the University of Hamburg, he served a residency at the University of Cologne and spent 2 years as post-doctoral researcher at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, USA. Before moving to Leipzig in 2017, he was Vice-chairman of the Department of Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Angiology and Intensive Medicine at the University of Saarland in Homburg, Germany. Professor Laufs has published multiple experimental and clinical studies in the areas of ‘heart failure’, ‘heart and brain’ and ‘prevention’ with special interest in lipoprotein metabolism. He has received numerous honours, serves in several editorial boards of international cardiovascular journals and holds positions in cardiovascular societies.

Jenni Lehtisalo is a research fellow at the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare and University of Eastern Finland who focuses her research on lifestyle factors in older adults, particularly in development of dementia but extending to diabetes and CVD. After her MSc in nutrition, she earned PhD in public health at the University of Helsinki studying multidomain lifestyle interventions in prevention of cognitive decline. Dr. Lehtisalo has years of experience in dietary epidemiology and lifestyle interventions and she has been responsible for planning, conducting and analysing many intervention studies. She is among the main dietary specialists in the worldwide WW-FINGERS network and her special interest are combining diet with other lifestyles in multidomain studies, long-term effects of these interventions and longitudinal changes in lifestyles, risk factors, and cognition. She has a total of has 33 scientific publications with an H-index of 18.
