I have a broad background in nutrition, with specific training and expertise in nutrition epidemiology, dietary assessments and metabolomics. My research includes using longitudinal data involving dietary factors, metabolite profiling, gut microbiome features, clinical data, biochemical indices, anthropometric measurements to identify population(s) at risk of nutritionally related public health problems and cardiovascular diseases.

Zhomart Orman is currently doing his PhD on cost-effectiveness of chronic disease management plans in stroke at the Department of Medicine, School of Clinical Sciences at Monash Health, Monash University. He has been involved in a randomized controlled trial (STANDFIRM) conducted to investigate the effectiveness of chronic disease management plans provided by Australian general practitioners to survivors of stroke or TIA. Also, he contributes to a data linkage study aimed at validating stroke costs. Zhomart Orman has worked on international projects of the World Health Organization and World Bank aimed at promoting and developing primary health care, investigating public patient involvement in healthcare quality improvement, and healthcare management capacity building. He has also coordinated the development of national health strategies and has been involved in improvement of healthcare services in Kazakhstan. He is a doctor and public health researcher, received his MD from National Kazakh Medical University in Kazakhstan and Master of Sciences in International Health at Heidelberg University in Germany.

Bruce Ovbiagele is a clinical epidemiologist and health equity scholar, with a focus on reducing the burden of stroke. He is Professor of Neurology and Associate Dean at the University of California, San Francisco, as well as Chief of Staff at the San Francisco Veterans Affairs Health Care System. Dr. Ovbiagele leads several United States National Institutes of Health sponsored programs focused on improving stroke outcomes among vulnerable and underserved populations, as well as mentoring early career scholars. So far, his various research activities have contributed substantially to the scientific knowledge base with >550 peer review publications and also edited 5 textbooks. Dr. Ovbiagele’s work has been recognized with several awards and honors including the American Academy of Neurology Pessin Research Leadership Award, International Stroke Conference Feinberg Excellence in Stroke Award, American Heart Association Haddock International Impact Award, and American Heart Association Scientific Sessions Stroke Council Award. He was Chair of the International Stroke Conference (2016-2018) and is founding chair of the inaugural African Stroke Organization Conference (2021). He is currently an Associate Editor for the journal, Stroke. Dr. Ovbiagele is an elected fellow of the World Stroke Organization, American Heart Association, and European Stroke Organization.

Mayowa Ojo OWOLABI DrM, MD, FAAN, FRCP, FAS, FAMedS is Professor of Neurology, and Dean, Faculty of Clinical Sciences, University of Ibadan, Nigeria. He is among the top 10 Nigerian scientists among the global top 2% scientists (2021). He has over 300 publications in peer reviewed journals. He pioneered the first Center for Neurorehabilitation in East, West and Central Africa, developed the seed of life model, stroke levity scale and the heath-related quality of life in stroke patients (HRQOLISP) questionnaire and the stroke recovery cycle. Prof. Owolabi is a leader par excellence recognized locally and globally. He is the foundation Co-Chair of the Steering Committee of the African Stroke Organization, pioneer Regional Vice-President, World Federation of NeuroRehabilitation (sub-Saharan Africa); member, Board of African Regional Office Director, World Hypertension League, pioneer Director, Centre for Genomic and Precision Medicine, University of Ibadan; and Lead Co-chair, WHO- World Stroke Organization (WSO)- Commission on Stroke, member WSO Global policy Committee, WSC Scientific committee, and guidelines committee. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Neurology, Royal College of Physicians, Academy of Medical Specialties, and the Nigerian Academy of Science.
