Department of Psychological Medicine
Dr David Teo is a Consultant Psychiatrist with the Department of Psychological Medicine at Changi General Hospital (CGH) where he heads the Health Wellness Programme (ASCAT@CGH), a government-funded community psychiatry shared care programme. Dr Teo's subspecialty interests are in adolescent psychiatry and psychosomatic medicine. He also has a special interest in psychodynamics as well as combining psychotherapy and medications in treating mood and anxiety disorders in youth and the medically ill. Dr Teo graduated with MBBS from the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore. He subsequently obtained Membership in the Royal College of Psychiatrists (United Kingdom). He completed his Psychiatry residency in Singapore and subsequently received advanced training in Psychosomatic Medicine. He is a Fellow of the College of Psychiatrists and Member of the Section of Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists, Academy of Medicine Singapore. Apart from clinical work, Dr Teo is passionate medical educator. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor with Duke-NUS Medical School; Clinical Senior Lecturer with the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, NUS; Clinical Faculty with the National Psychiatry Residency Programme. He is also active in research, advisory and editorial work. He has published in international peer-reviewed journals and textbooks. He is also a member of the WPA Section on Psychotherapy and Co-Chair of its Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry SIG.
