Dr.med.Sven Schellberg was born on September 18th, 1970 in Mülheim an der Ruhr, Germany. After studying medicine at the University of Essen, Germany he passed his state-exam in 1996 and received the title “Doctor of Medicine” in 1997 by the University of Essen, Germany and the King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia based on his thesis in pediatric-cardiology. After working as Senior House Officer in Internal Medicine with a focus on somnology and intensive care Dr. Schellberg held various national and international positions within the pharmaceutical industry between 1998 and 2014. Novartis in Nürnberg, Germany and Basel, Switzerland, H. Lundbeck A/S in , Copenhagen, Denmark, Actelion in Basel, Switzerland and Gilead Sciences in Munich, Germany were his employers. Areas of focus of his roles in the industry were Psychiatry, Rare Diseases and HIV. From 2014 Dr. Sven Schellberg went back to patient care and focused on HIV and Infectious Diseases, Surgery and Orthopedy. In January 2018 he received the registration as GP by the Berlin Board of Physicians, Germany. Beginning of 2018 Dr. Schellberg founded his own clinic under the name of „Novopraxis“ in central Berlin, Germany. Novopraxis focuses on sexual health including HIV and hepatitis. Dr Schellberg´s scientific interest focuses on sexual health, predominantly on the diagnosis and treatment of sexually transmitted infections, the communication around sexual content and the use of illicit substances in a sexual context. Dr Schellberg published various papers and posters on those topics. The SARS-CoV2 pandemic caused Dr. Schellberg to focus on outpatient care of patients being infected with the virus and to maintain medical care under pandemic circumstances. The implementation of strategies to provide outpatient care to vulnerable patient groups and to prevent hospital admissions is his focus of scientific interest in that context. Dr. Schellberg is scientific lecturer and member of DSTIG, DAGNÄ, DAIG and DGPPN.
