Session Description
Antithrombotic management of ischemic stroke/TIA: Earlier, Faster, Stronger - Supported by SANOFI

Session Description:

The management of ischemic stroke and TIA is complex and multifaceted, requiring an individualized treatment approach; furthermore, antithrombotic therapies may play a significant role in the prevention of secondary ischemic events in these patients. Recent registries shows existence of early risk of recurrent event, even in the centers with well-organized acute stroke management services. Introduction of emergency service with immediate treatment, compared to untreated natural history of TIA and ischemic stroke, dramatically reduces the risk of any recurrence. Objectives of this symposium are to better understand the current landscape on the short- and long term management of TIA and minor ischemic stroke and understand some of the subtleties around individualized treatment with a particular focus on antithrombotic therapy. Increase the awareness on the current landscape on the management of ischemic stroke and TIA.
