Personalised care is key to the profession of family physician. Recently, this term has also been used by experts from other areas of biomedical science, especially regarding genomics. But actually, family physicians are true experts in personalised care. This session will deal with the family medicine approach to personalised care. We will hear experts describing attitudes of family physicians from the Netherlands regarding personalised care for dementia. We will learn about experiences from China and the way patients there understand personalised care. The session will also include a study from the UK about the results of new practices in care for people with dementia. Finally, we will learn bout the factors that influence patients' decision of living with dementia at home in the Netherlands.
