Dr. Beatriz Massa Domínguez is Director of the Department of Health Alacant – Sant Joan d'Alacant and President of the Spanish Society for Home Hospitalization (SEHAD). Dr. Massa graduated from medical school at the Compultense University of Madrid. She is also a specialist in Internal medicine via M.I.R. and completed her PhD in Internal medicine at the University Hospital San Carlos. Dr. Massa's work is focused on the development of the Hospital at Home model and she has presented her ideas in numerous congresses. She has won various awards, most recently the Medical Journal Award "Best Ideas 2016" in the management category for the project HAD 2020: key to the future, a 4-year plan, focused on the development of Hospital at Home model in Spain. The final objective set for the year 2020 is to come up with a more homogenous care model; to promote the training and professional recognition of those who work in the Hospital at Home; that each hospital in Spain has a Hospital at Home unit; recognition and empowerment by the national health system.
