Prof Montalto is currently a senior medical consultant at HITH at Epworth Healthcare (the biggest private not for profit hospital provider in Victoria). He has opened 2 large Hospital in the Home services and transformed one from a nurse only service to a medically intensive medical HITH. He is a senior HAH clinician, and has been involved in the direct clinical care of Hospital in the Home patients since 1994.He is a member of the Executive Committee of the Hospital in the Home Society of Australasia, and a Director of Aged Care Imaging, a mobile xray service for nursing home patients. He is the first author of over 30 peer reviewed publications, and the author of a book entitled "Hospital in the Home: principles and practice".
