Guendalina Graffigna is Full Professor of Consumer Health and Food Psychology at the Catholic University of the Sacred Hearth in Cremona. From 2018, she is Director of the Consumer, Food & Health Engagement Research Center - EngageMinds Hub of https://www.engagemindshub.com/. At the same University she teaches “Consumer Food Psychology” “Psychology for Social Marketing” and “Qualitative Research”. During the Covid19 pandemic she has promoted dissemination activities to engage citizens in behavioural change for virus spread prevention, and dedicated great part of her scientific activity to deepen psychological roots of vaccine hesitancy. In 2021 she has been member of the Italian Working Group for planning the National Vaccination Program instituted by the Italian Health Ministry and in 2022 she has been appointed as a member of NITAG (National Immunization Technical Advisory Group). Since 2023 she is Member of the National Communication Group on Food Safety of EFSA organized by the Italian Ministry of Health. Her research and scientific activities are mainly devoted to the study of patient and citizens engagement, change for health promotion, vaccine hesitancy, food psychology and consumers intelligence. She has spent the last 15 years of activity in constructing bridges between scientific/academic knowledge and at present she is coordinating an intra and inter university reflection for contributing to priorities and policies discussions on stakeholders’ engagement in the healthcare and in the agri-food sector. She is a qualitative research specialist with particular focus on discourse analysis, online qualitative research and focus groups. In 2014 she validated the PATIENT HEALTH ENGAGEMENT Scale: the first measure of the patients' psychological experience of engagement in chronic care management, which is now widely adopted by healthcare and research organizations worldwide. According to the international scientific database Scopus she is the most productive international scholar in the domain of PATIENT ENGAGEMENT.
