Alexander B. Olawaiye, MD, FRCOG, FACOG, FACS Professor Olawaiye is a graduate of the premier University of Ibadan, Nigeria. He proceeded to the United Kingdom where he underwent post graduate training in obstetrics and gynecology and became a member, subsequently, a fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. Upon relocating to the United States, he did his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the State University of New York (SUNY) at Buffalo. His fellowship training in gynecologic oncology was at the Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School. Professor Olawaiye is the Vice Chair for Diversity, Equity & Inclusion at the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences, University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States. He is also the Director of gynecologic cancer research and Director of minimal access gynecologic oncology surgery at his institution. Professor Olawaiye is a member of the executive council of the American Joint Committee on Cancer (AJCC) and the Chair of the AJCC’s Female Reproductive Panel.
