Larry J. Copeland, MD, Professor, Division of Gynecologic Oncology, The Ohio State University. President, GOG Foundation. Dr. Larry Copeland was born in Brampton, Ontario, Canada He obtained a B.Sc. from the University of Waterloo, where he played varsity ice hockey. He received his M.D. from the University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario. He completed residency in Ob/Gyn at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario and completed a fellowship in Gyn/Onc at UT M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, Texas. In 1988, he left Houston to create a Gyn/Onc Division at The Ohio State University. He was the Chair of Ob/Gyn at OSU from 1996 to 2009. Dr. Copeland has had the honor of serving as President of the ABOG, SGO, and AGOS. Dr. Copeland currently serves as the President of The GOG Foundation, noted for setting the standard of care through clinical trials in Gyn/Onc for over 50 years. He lives with his wife, Lisa, in Upper Arlington, OH. They enjoy travel, tennis and cooking together and fine wine.
