Academic Qualifications: Specialisation in Obstetrics and Gynaecology Special interest: Education and training, screening and prevention of HPV related diseases and colposcopy. Dr Ida Ismail-Pratt graduated from Glasgow University in 1997 and obtained her O&G MRCOG (UK) in 2010. She and Dr. Mila Pontremoli Salcedo leads the development of the first IGCS Preinvasive Disease Training Program and are part of the IGCS education and training committee. She is an accredited colposcopist with the Society of Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology Singapore (SCCPS) and the British Society of Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology (BSCCP). She is currently an OBGYN specialist and medical director for The Obstetrics & Gynaecology Centre in Singapore. She was the lead for Gynaecology cancer screening and prevention for the National University Hospital, Singapore and championed the introduction of HPV DNA test in Singapore as an alternative to the cytology-based national cervical screening program in 2014. Dr. Ida is also the Vice President of the Society of Colposcopy & Cervical Pathology Singapore (SCCPS) and co-chair the Singapore national cervical screening program implementation committee introducing HPV primary screening into Singapore in May 2019. Dr. Ida’s interest in education and training has led her to established key programs in Singapore in cervical cancer screening and prevention in addition to colposcopy training. She plays a major role in developing workshops to train Singaporean doctors in all aspects of cervical cancer screening and prevention, HPV related diseases and colposcopy. She pioneered the development of Singapore first national cervical cancer screening and prevention curriculum for community nurses including national Train the Nurse Trainer program to bring cervical cancer screening and prevention training to the community. Internationally Dr. Ida is an active member and part of the education committee in several international societies including IGCS, ASCCP and IPVS. This has led her to establish colposcopy and cervical cancer screening programs mainly for other countries in South East Asia including Vietnam, Cambodia, Myanmar and Malaysia.
