Birmingham Women's and Children's NHS Foundation Trust Paediatric Intensive Care Unit
I’m a Registered Children’s Nurse, with over 21 years of paediatric nursing experience, predominantly in Paediatric Intensive Care (PICU). I am currently employed in a Clinical Academic role, PICU (2 days /week) and as NIHR Senior Nurse Research Lead for Birmingham Women's and Children's NHS Trust (2 days /week). I am Principal Investigator for a number of multi-centre studies within PICU and co-applicant on a number of funded NIHR grants. I have served as an elected nurse member of the UK Paediatric Critical Care Society (PCCS) council and I am currently the Chair for the Paediatric and Neonatal Section, European Paediatric Critical Care Society (ESPNIC). My research interests are early rehabilitation and mobilisation, patient and family experience, patient and public involvement and engagement and I am passionate about developing clinical academic careers opportunities for nursing and midwifery.
