Ioanna D. Pavlopoulou (Greece)

Ioanna Pavlopoulou obtained her M.D. at Athens, Greece's National & Kapodistrian University. She trained in Paediatrics in the U.K. and Athens. She subsequently subspecialized in Paediatric Infectious Diseases at the University of Athens, where she also obtained her Ph.D. She has served at the Hellenic Centre for Disease Control and Prevention and was appointed by the University of Athens, Division of Paediatrics, Faculty of Nursing, where she currently holds the post of Professor and is the lead for an outpatient clinic at “Aglaia Kyriakou” Children’s Hospital, focusing on migrant children’s health. Her research interests include infectious diseases, vaccines, and epidemiology of vaccine-preventable diseases, with more than 50 peer-reviewed papers in academic journals. She is a member of the National Committee on Immunizations, a board member of the Hellenic College of Paediatrics, and one of the founders currently leading the InfoVac Greece website, a platform providing direct answers concerning vaccine-related questions and newsletters to healthcare professionals.
