Kenneth Alexander (United States of America)

Nemours Children’s Hospital Orlando, Florida Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases
Dr. Alexander is a board-certified Pediatric Infectious Diseases sub-specialist with expertise in Biochemistry, Basic Virology, and Vaccinology. Dr. Alexander’s early research career focused on control of transcription and DNA replication in papillomaviruses. With the advent of HPV vaccines, Dr. Alexander began work on vaccine implementation in medically underserved communities. More recently, Dr. Alexander has worked in the global implementation of HPV vaccination. While much of Dr. Alexander’s recent research effort has focused on HPV vaccine implementation, he has continued his laboratory research program. Recently, Dr. Alexander has been studying the effects of innate immune activation on HPV DNA replication and has begun a collaborative program with the Parks lab investigating the use of Zika viruses as oncolytic cancer therapies.
