Martin Frederick Laursen earned his Ph.D. degree in Gut Microbial Ecology from the National Food Institute in the Technical University of Denmark. He began as post-doctoral researcher in the same institution from 2018-2021, then to a senior researcher from 2021-2022. Currently, he serves as an associate professor for the university. Prof. Laursen has 16 peer-reviewed publications, with 13 as first author mostly focused on the development of the gut microbiota. Through the years he has received five research grants as main-applicant and co-applicant, and has received the DTU’s Young Researcher Award for PhD thesis (2018) as well as ISAPP (International Scientific Association for Probiotics and Prebiotics) Glenn Gibson Early Career Researcher Prize (2022).
