Jen is a UK Registered Dietitian with experience in a variety of sectors including clinical practice, academia and consultancy. She has worked with ketogenic diet (KD) therapies throughout her career in both a clinical and research capacity. Firstly, in acute hospitals in the NHS, specialising in paediatrics and KD therapies. Then academia, as a lecturer and researcher at the University of Nottingham and University of Plymouth and now, consultancy as founder and director of The Keto Dietitian. Jen supports children and adults to undertake medical KD. She is particularly passionate about working with clients and families, supporting them to confidently undertake KD and helping them to achieve optimal outcomes. Jen’s mixed methods research is focused on the outcomes of KD therapy and families’ experiences of epilepsy and KD therapy. She led the development of a core outcome set for childhood epilepsy treated with ketogenic diet for her PhD and is in the final stages of writing up. Jen collaborates on various research projects with colleagues in the Ketogenic Dietitians Research Network where she is a co-publicist. She is a serving member of the Matthew’s Friends Medical Board and research officer for the Paediatric Specialist Group of the British Dietetic Association.
