Sara Sila, PhD, was born in Zagreb where she finished her elementary and high school. She got her Master's degree at the Faculty of Food technology and biotechnology, University of Zagreb in 2016. From 2016 to 2020 she has been working as a research assistant (PhD student) on the Croatian Science Foundation project on the topic of gut microbiota in children with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) at the Children’s Hospital Zagreb. She has enrolled in Postgraduate University Doctoral Study at the Faculty of Food Technology and Biotechnology, University of Zagreb, and acquired her PhD in 2020. Since 2020, she has worked as a clinical dietitian at the Children’s Hospital Zagreb, focusing mainly on gastroenterology patients, but also other paediatric unit patients. Her research interests include, but are not limited to, the gut microbiota of patients with IBD and the nutritional status of children with different gastrointestinal diseases. She is an author and co-author of different scientific papers indexed in CC. In 2021, she has been elected as an Allied Health Professional (AHP) representative in the Gastroenterology committee of the European Society for Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition. She is also an active member of all major Croatian dietetic associations.
