Pediatric Immunology
Deniz Nazire Çağdaş Ayvaz is a Professor of Paediatrics in the Division of Paediatric Immunology at Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine Department of Paediatrics, Turkey. She received her MD from Hacettepe University in 1998 and then subspecialty trained in Paediatric, Paediatric Cardiology, and Paediatric Immunology and Allergy. In 2017, Dr. Deniz received her PhD in Immunology from Hacettepe University. Her recent work, in collaboration with the National Institutes of Health in the United States, focused on functional studies in autophagy defects of inborn errors of immunity. Dr. Deniz now works in the Department of Paediatric Immunology at Hacettepe University in Turkey where she oversees the treatment of patients with immunodeficiencies. Her professional interests include primary immunodeficiencies and their molecular basis, hematopoietic stem cell transplantation in primary immunodeficiencies, systemic and immunologic effects of infections on immune system, disorders of immune dysregulation, and lymphoproliferation. She is currently a member of various societies, including ESID and EACI.
