Dr Virgil Dalm has been a staff member of the department of internal medicine – division of allergy & clinical immunology and the department of immunology of the Erasmus University Medical Center Rotterdam, the Netherlands since 2011. Within the Primary Immunodeficiency Center of this university hospital, he is responsible for the clinical care of adult patients with primary and secondary immunodeficiency disorders. Dr Dalm’s research focuses on determining non-infectious complications in inborn errors of immunity (IEI) including skin, endocrine, neurodevelopmental and psychiatric disorders. His research has resulted in the introduction of novel therapeutics into clinical practice and new genetic defects being identified. From 2021, he has been leading a nationwide study in the Netherlands on the immunogenicity, tolerability and safety of COVID-19 vaccination in patients with IEI.
