After medical school, I started a PhD in the laboratory of Kris Thielemans, working on, among other things, ALPS. Afterwards, I continued to train as a pediatrician, a pediatric hemato oncologist and afterwards I trained even further as an immunologist with maarten Egeler in Leiden. Since 2008; I am working in the UZ Brussels as head of the department of Pediatric Hemato oncology, but a large part of my activities are invested in the care for PID patients. As a result, my research focus is on malignancies and immunodeficiency.
