Born in Pisa, Italy (May 18th of may 1971); degree in Medicine from the University of Pisa (January 28th 1999); fellow of Rheumatology at the University of Pisa (1999-2003); working as a consultant at the Rheumatology Unit, University of Pisa since 2010. Mostly interested in spondyloarthritis and ultrasound in rheumatology (since 1997). Member of many professional societies (GRAPPA -Group for Research and Assessment of Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis-, SIR -Società Italiana di Reumatologia-, SIGR -Società Italiana di Gastro-Reumatologia-, SIUMB - Società Italiana di Ultrasonologia in Medicina e Biologia-), being member of the steering committee of the study group on US of the SIR, member of the study group on SpA of the SIR, member of the scientific committee of the SIGR and in charge of the OMERACT -Outcome Measure in Rheumatology- subtask force “Lung Ultrasound in Rheumatology”. More than 120 papers published on international peer reviewed journals. Member of the editorial board of Reumatismo and reviewer for many medical journals (Annals of the Rheumatic Diseases; Clinical and Experimental Rheumatology; Journal of Rheumatology; Clinical Rheumatology; BMC Musculoskeletal Disorders; Imaging in Medicine; Ultrasound Quarterly, Ultrasound in medicine and biology, Journal of Ultrasound).
