This session will highlight progress towards a 2020 update of key elements of consolidated WHO guidance on HIV diagnostics, treatment and care. It will explore new evidence and policy directions related to emerging ARV toxicities; new guidelines on the diagnosis and management of Histoplasmosis among people living with HIV, non-communicable diseases and HIV integration, developments in pediatric and adolescents treatment; and viral load testing frequency and thresholds and early infant diagnosis. The session will invite diverse stakeholders to explore the urgency and challenges of adopting HIV treatment guidance, and expanding access to reliable viral load testing, in an increasingly complex context.
