Session Description
Commissioners, clinicians, and community workers will discuss the world’s first HIV Social Impact Bond (SIB).
The SIB is an innovative method for non-profit organizations to bring people living with HIV into HIV treatment. In London, the model is enabling public authorities to be deeply involved and eventually adopt service provision within the UK National Health Service.
Non-profit and public leaders will discuss why they chose to use a SIB model to tackle this issue, what challenges they have faced, and what advice they would give to someone interested in starting a new HIV SIB. A selection of providers across hospitals, primary care, and community organizations will discuss strategies for increasing access to HIV testing and reaching people hesitant to engage with health services. All participants will then come together to discuss COVID-19’s impact and future plans.
