Dr. Jaime E. Fergie is Director of Pediatric Infectious Diseases and Hospital Epidemiologist at Driscoll Children’s Hospital. Dr. Fergie is the Medical Director of the Global Institute for Hispanic Health. He has an appointment as Professor of Pediatrics at Texas A&M University College of Medicine, Clinical Professor of Pediatrics University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, and Adjunct Clinical Professor, University of North Texas Health Science Center. He received his medical degree from Caracas Central University of Venezuela. Completed his pediatric residency at Oklahoma Children’s Memorial Hospital in Oklahoma City. He did his Pediatric Infectious Diseases fellowship at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital/LeBonheur Children’s Medical Center, University of Tennessee, Memphis. He is board certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Infectious Diseases and is a fellow of the Infectious Disease Society of America, the American Academy of Pediatrics, and the Society for Healthcare Epidemiology of America. He is a member of the Society for Pediatric Research, the Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society, and the European Society for Pediatric Infectious Diseases. Dr. Fergie has published over 80 original articles and presented more than 70 abstracts, lecturing on pediatric infectious diseases and vaccines at national and international meetings throughout the world.
