He is the coordinator of Centre for Comprehensive Stroke Rehabilitation and Research and Head of the Department of Physiotherapy, MCHP,MAHE, India. He graduated from Dr. MGR Medical University in Chennai as the gold medalist. He completed his Master’s degree specializing in neurological physiotherapy in 2003 and a PhD on ‘virtual reality training for incoordination’ from MAHE in 2010. He has more than 20 years of teaching, clinical and research experience in neurological rehabilitation. He is an active researcher and his research focus is on strategies to improve motor recovery after stroke, use of technology and implementation of evidence-based practice. He is a member of various international working groups on stroke rehabilitation and has been actively involved in developing stroke rehabilitation strategies for Low-income countries. He has four international and five Indian funded projects to his credit. He has 42 peer-reviewed scientific publications to his credit. He has a keen interest in developing inter-professional practice in neurological rehabilitation and completed his FAIMER fellowship in Inter-professional education and leadership in 2018.He is also very passionate about teaching and student wellness.
