Anne Alexandrov is a Professor of Nursing with a joint-appointment as a Professor of Neurology, and the Chief Nurse Practitioner of the University of Tennessee Health Science Center's Mobile Stroke Unit. She completed her Masters of Science degree in Critical Care and Emergency Nursing as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner and completed her PhD in Physiology with a focus on integrated systemic and intracranial hemodynamics. Her program of research centers on methods to augment blood flow in acute stroke patients, with a secondary program of research focusing on stroke systems of care. Professor Alexandrov is also the Program Director and developer of the NET SMART on line acute stroke education and clinical training system which includes advanced fellowship preparation for nurse practitioners, clinical nurse specialists, nurse educators, and physician assistants within English-speaking countries (www.learnstroke.com); she has graduated more than 100 acute stroke advanced practice nurse and physician fellows from this program on 4 continents since its inception in 2008.
