Marina is a rehabilitation clinician and researcher specialized in Stroke Aphasia. She is an expert adult neuro scientist at the Rehabilitation Sciences department of the Cyprus University of Technology. Marina qualified from City University London and have been practicing in Neurological Rehabilitation for the past 18 years. She studies her PhD at the Department of Neurology at the University of Fribourg in Switzerland, under the supervision of Professor Jean-Marie Annoni MD. In 2009, Marina established the Cyprus Stroke Association. She is currently the President of the Board, the Secretary of the Board of the Stroke Alliance for Europe, and a proud member of the ‘Future Stroke Leaders Program’ of the World Stroke Organization. Marina has received an achievement award in fighting stroke from SAFE in 2018. In 2020 Marina received the prestigious scholarship of the A.G. Leventis Foundation to support her Research. She is also working in 3 Stroke related studies: the ASPIRE for post-stroke aphasia, the i-TRAIN for direct care workers, and the ACESO to improve patient outcomes. Her main interests are rehabilitation, quality of life, and patient and public involvement in stroke research.
