- Graduated as Veterinarian from the Faculdade de Medicina Veterinária e Zootecnia da Universidade de São Paulo (FMVZ-USP), Brazil, in July, 1988.
- Graduated as a Dentist in the Dental School, in the Faculdade de Odontologia da
Universidade de São Paulo ( FO-USP), Brazil, in 1999.
- Assistant Professor in Surgical Technique and Clinical and Surgical Pathology in the
Department of Surgery in the FMVZ-USP, since 1990, retired in 2022.
- Residency in Small Animal Surgery in the Veterinary Hospital of FMVZ-USP, from
January 1989 to February 1990.
- Residency in Veterinary Dentistry in the Veterinary Hospital of the University of
Pennsylvania, from October 1994 to February 1996. Mentor: Dr. Colin E. Harvey.
- Master degree in Surgery from FMVZ-USP in 1994.
- Ph.D. degree in Surgery at FMVZ-USP in 1998.
- Diplomate of the American Veterinary Dental College, USA, in 2001.
- Ex-President of the Brazilian Small Animals Veterinarian Association (Anclivepa-SP)

- Former President of the Brazilian Veterinary Dental Association (ABOV)
- Former vice-President of SPMV (São Paulo Veterinary Society)
- Board of Directors of WSAVA 2009 Congress in São Paulo, Brazil. President of the Scientific Committee.
