Yaiza graduated from the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria in 2002. She started specialising in feline medicine in 2009. Yaiza obtained her GP Cert Feline Practice (ESVPS) in 2010 and earned the ANZCVS membership in 2016. Since then, she has completed the CVE DE course of feline medicine, published some articles about feline medicine and obtained her ISFM Advanced Certificate in Feline Behaviour in 2020. Yaiza works as a small animal practitioner in the United Kingdom and Spain. She currently works as Community Co-ordinator of the Internaional Society of Feline Medicine.
