M. Kutzler

Dr. Michelle Kutzler graduated with Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degrees from Washington State University. She worked in mixed animal practice in Minnesota for four years after graduation before going to Cornell University to pursue a theriogenology residency. She stayed on at Cornell University to complete a PhD in Physiology in placental vascular blood flow. Since 2002, Dr. Kutzler has been at Oregon State University in Corvallis, Oregon. She has published widely in the area of non-surgical sterilization in dogs and cats as well as the long-term adverse health effects of spaying and neutering. Since 1999, Dr. Kutzler has been an active member of the American College of Theriogenologists serving on several committees. Dr. Kutzler is also on the Scientific Advisory Committee for the Alliance for Contraception in Cats and Dogs and the Chair of Scientific Committee for the 2022 International Symposium on Canine and Feline Reproduction. In addition, she is an American Kennel Club Breeder of Merit with her Dachshunds. Dr. Kutzler and her husband (Sean) of 25 years have 3 amazing children, including one who is following in her mother's footsteps at the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine.
